Double Page From a Real Magazine

This is my unfinished work for when we had to make a double page spread. We had to choose a double page spread from a magazine such as OK or Look etc. then after choosing the certain double page spread we had to make an exact copy of this using InDesign. We had to start from scratch and make our work look exactly like the original copy. As I have mentioned, mine is unfinished. The title of my double page spread was called "Me and My Mam"

Excellent start - this is a merit.

You have used three columns effectively and filled them with placeholder text.
You have used an image frame and placed an image in it. You have also created a pull quote to get the readers attention.

To make this even better, you could try to make the headline more eye-catching by using a bolder typeface (font) and a colour that will stand out from the black text.
Your pull quote should only be the width of one column. Either make it fit within one column or fit it exactly in the middle of two columns.

The way the text wraps around the round picture means there is a very thin line of text, which has a negative impact on the readability of the copy.
The text at the very bottom right of the page is not aligned with the rest of the columns - you could line that up and it will look much better

I look forward to seeing the finished work.

Well done and keep up the good work.

    Mr Monahan :-)
